SAN (Styrene Acrylonitrile) is a copolymer of styrene and acrylonitrile, offering greater strength, heat resistance, scratch resistance, and chemical resistance compared to standard polystyrene (PS). This makes SAN filament a robust choice for high-performance 3D prints, especially when durability and chemical stability are required.

Why Choose SAN Filament?

SAN filament is particularly valued for its dishwasher-safe properties, making it suitable for applications where food contact compliance is needed. It meets the European Regulation No. 10/2011 on plastic materials for food contact, ensuring safety in household and industrial applications.

While SAN offers high transparency and chemical resistance, it is not ideal for outdoor use due to limited UV resistance. It is also relatively brittle, making it less suitable for impact-heavy applications. If you need higher impact resistance, consider alternatives like HIPS or ABS.
